Carving processing
-
If you think about carving, you can think of it as stamping. It is a method used when you want to add a slope for detailed processing or precise expression of corners, unlike general processing blades with flat ends, by using a processing blade with a certain angle, such as a carving knife.

What is the difference between 2D machining and angle machining?

Let me explain the difference more easily with an image.

I want to do an engraving in the shape of the letter "T".
Since the cutting edge is shaped like a cylinder like a ballpoint pen or pencil, there will always be a rounded part at the edge. If you use a very small blade, it will be almost invisible, but if you use a blade with a diameter of 6 mm, a curved surface of 3 mm will be created.
However, in contrast, in the case of processing using angled blades with a pointed end shape, it is possible to express even the corners by adjusting the height value. It is easier to understand if you refer to the processed image on the side.
※ When the lettering is dug into the ground, it is called intaglio, and when the lettering protrudes forward like a normal seal, it is called relief.
